Dear Fr. Phil,
I thought you were going somewhere else. But the picture you posted seems to say you're going to the Philippines. Well, have fun there too.
Vacation during Lent? That's weird. Well, have a good time... I guess... I still think it's weird.... You definately deserve a break, though. You work too hard. So relax. But keep a spirit of prayer. But good, happy prayer. Yeah. That'll work. Lenten happy vacation prayers. Yup. :-)
I'll be praying for you. And then when you get back you can pray for me because I'll be in Texas the week you get back from wherever it is you're going and I need prayers because I'm scared. But you just have a great time next week!!!
What's so weird about it? Last time I read up on Canon Law there was nothing against Catholics going on vacation during Lent :-) Of course I will still keep up my Lenten exercises.
I'll keep you in prayer during your time in Texas. I know it will be grace-filled. Also I'm sure you are getting excited about having some time off from studies.
You could play St. Francis and go to vacation on a desert island for Lent. One without a beach-side bar would probably be best. It'd be more authentic. Just you and the clothes on your back. Or you could even nix those, if you're really hardcore. :-P
Yeah, I'm looking forward to a little break from essays and lesson plans. Although I'm not sure how much of a break it'll be, waking up at 5:15 every morning... I'm excited about to it, though. I'm sure I'll learn lots.
Have a good vacation!
