Priesthood Sunday

I came across this day last year when I was blogging and I thought it was a neat idea. That one day a year we recognize those priests in our lives who make such an impact. As for myself and for my brother priests it's a great day for reflection. I know personally it's a great day to reflect on my few months that I have been ordained. Those few months in which I shared in others' pains, in which I brought the sacraments to people and I think the most powerful experiences duirng this short time have been at the moment of consecration in which I pronounce those same words that Jesus did at the Last Supper and in my hands that bread and that wine become our Lord Jesus in the flesh and also the other powerful moment is pronouncing the words of absolution in which I forgive sins in the name of God and his church. Al I can say is "Wow!" So when you see your priest tomorrow just give him a "thank you" and continue to pray for us because we surely need it.

I won't see you tomorrow (unfortunately... I've been getting very home-parish sick the past few Sundays), but thank you! You've made an impact in my life (and continue to). You listen to me and you give good advice and you understand me and you care about me. Thank you! :-D
