THE VIEW FROM MY WORLD

Today's feast reminds me of my days in the Eternal City which was home for five years and I do enjoy being back in the good old USA but I do cherish the wonderful days that I spent in Rome (except for exams). A great to reflect on seeing the church in action and how it works so beautifully from the Pope down to the parish priest working at his desk as he composes this blog. We do have such a wonderful gift in the Church and to think men like Peter and Paul who stood for the truth even to the point of sacrificing their lives. I also would like to congratulate all our archbishops who received the pallium this morning at St. Peter's Basilica but in particularly to our sole American Archbishop Joseph Edward Kurtz of Louisville, Kentucky. Enjoy this wonderful feast and to all those who will be taking the next couple of weeks off for vacation may the Lord bless you and your families as you get together for some time of fun and relaxation and don't forget to find a church near you for Sunday Mass before you head out the door. You can check it all out at www.masstimes.com
