OUR LADY OF FATIMA

Today we celebrate the anniversary of the apparitions that occurred in Fatima, Portugal in 1917. Jacinta, Francisco and Lucia (who just passed away last year at 97 years old) were the visionaries who saw the blessed mother at six different occasions between the months of May and October of that year in 1917. She asked that these three children cosecrate themselves to her so that Russia will not go with it's evil plans of war that would have caused great suffering and damage throughout the world. The children of course went through much suffering with their families and the Portuguese government because they thought these children were lying. Many people's behavior changed when the crowd on October 13th saw the "dancing sun" and many miracles occurred that day.

Our Blessed Mother is a great example to all mothers. She throughout her life was a mother that was of love of God and always showed great example to her child and husband. So may all mothers this weekend remember our mother in heaven and ask for her intercession that they will be mothers who will love their children and guide them to the path of righteousness .
